Great analysis @Richard Stiennon

The question is why?

Is it because Gartner analysts spend too much time in customers call repeating what they already wrote and so not doing research ?

I heard this argument quite often

I believe that is part of it Laurent. The incentives are not there. Analyst retention and bonuses are based on client interaction metrics not on research production. There also appears to be a strong reliance on Peer Insights. Any vendor can create a profile there and then encourage their fans to write positive reviews.

Just checked: Gartner is kicking off an Email Security Platform MQ at the end of the month, planned to be published in early September this year.

Thanks Andre. That's good news. Somebody else sent me the list of reports they are going to publish. Even with the Email Security MQ they are down to only 9.
