Working our way through the IT-Harvest Cyber 150 we come to the seven Application Security vendors that were included because they grew more than 15% and had between 50 and 500 employees. All seven claim US headquarters. And all of them are well funded. Together they have taken in $481 million.
Here they are sorted by growth.
Upwind was the 11th fastest growing vendor in the Cyber 150 and the fastest in AppSec. All of its growth came before June 1.
Upwind's Runtime-Powered CNAPP leverages runtime data to secure cloud infrastructure and applications. It is designed to provide comprehensive cloud-native application protection by utilizing runtime insights for various security and compliance tasks. This includes identity security, cloud security posture management (CSPM), vulnerability management, and cloud workload protection (CWPP). The product aims to minimize the gap between security and DevOps teams, offering easy installation and usability, and providing visibility into security aspects of cloud environments.
Chainguard is known for its simple but effective business model. They sell pre-configured container images. Note that they continued to grow past June and have matched Upwind’s growth so far this year.

Endor Labs continues to grow its business for finding and securing software dependencies. They took in an unkown amount from Citi Vendtures in July.
Privado, the largest of these seven AppSec companies, specializes in providing real-time data flow diagrams and data usage dashboards. The company's technology is designed to enforce data protection policies in product development and provide just-in-time guidance on policy violations straight into developer tools like GitHub and JIRA.
And then there is ThreatModeler which actually dropped slighting since July.
ThreatModeler Software's focus is on providing solutions that can securely design, build, and validate from development through deployment. Their platform offers automated, continuous visibility into flaws in application design. Note that they experienced a retrenching during a dificult 2023.
