Launching a Cyber Marketplace
Search, Discover, and Download Reports on 11,400+ Cybersecurity Products
When I first proposed what eventually turned into the IT-Harvest Dashboard to David Cowen at Bessemer Ventures he said he might be interested in investing if we could incorporate end-user reviews and get a revenue-share from the vendors. To this day I have not figured out how that would even work. Unless you are Amazon people do not buy enterprise security products by clicking a Buy Now button.
There have been many attempts at building cybersecurity marketplaces. All are faced with the same issue: enrolling vendors and cataloging their products. Most rely on vendors to populate all of their own data. We have already discoverd all the vendors and their products. It only took 4,000 hours for me to create the initial dataset. Marketplace concepts usually involve a pay-to-play aspect to enhance a vendor’s listing. The business model is caught up in a chicken versus egg conumdrum. Vendors do not want to participate until the market place reaches critical mass. And end users do not want to use a marketplace that only has limited products.

As the only source of data on all cybersecurity products, IT-Harvest is uniquely positioned to create a comprehensive marketplace.
But we, along with the entire industry analyst space, face an existential threat. I estimate that within 18 months you will be able to use AI tools to find and select products. Surprisingly, you cannot do this today. So-called AI agents still rely on Google searches which are polluted by SEO and pay-to-play Top Ten lists. For instance I asked Perplexity to research and create a list of all the AI security vendors. This is what it gave me:
Major AI Security Companies (according to Perplexity)
Abnormal Security
Armis
Barracuda Networks
Cloudflare
CrowdStrike
Cyera
Darktrace
Fortinet
Inky
Netskope
Orca Security
You can see that LLMs have no concept of a vendor category. Not one of these is an AI Security company. The IT-Harvest Dashboard tracks 102 pure play AI Security vendors and there are more in our backlog.
So imagine a database of all the products with concise descriptions stripped of marketing fluff. Each product is aligned to frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK or NIST CSF. Search by keywords, product features, use cases, integrations and even pricing if available— all presented clearly.
Today I am announcing that we are building a Cyber Marketplace. It will be hosted at HarvestIQ.ai and you can sign up for early access now.
What Is the HarvestIQ Marketplace?
The HarvestIQ Marketplace is a new online platform that makes cybersecurity product research easy, fast, and affordable. It is NOT a place to buy products, but it will shorten your product research times dramatically.
For just $20/month, users will get:
Unlimited search access to over 11,400 cybersecurity products
An intelligent agent that can make suggestions, write a SWOT analysis, or create a battle card, the same agent we launched in January.
Instant PDF report downloads for each product
These reports are data-rich, easy to read, and designed to help you make confident decisions.
What’s in a Report?
Each report includes:
MITRE ATT&CK & NIST CSF alignment
Understand what part of the threat lifecycle or framework the product addresses.
Key features and capabilities
See what the product actually does.
Integrations
Find out how it connects with other tools in your stack.
Use cases
Know when and why the product is typically deployed.
Pricing (when available). Get an early sense of budget expectations — without a sales call.
Whether you're evaluating XDR vendors, building an RFP, or doing research for competitive intelligence the Marketplace is where you start.
Who’s It For?
We built this for:
Security architects and CISOs evaluating tools for their environment
Consultants preparing client recommendations
Product managers at vendors doing competitive research
Investors and analysts mapping the cybersecurity market
Enterprise IT teams working on vendor selection and budget planning
If you need to know what a cybersecurity product does, how it fits into your architecture, and how it compares to others — this is your new favorite tool.
Why Now?
There are over 4,000 cybersecurity vendors, and the number continues to grow despite the 300 or so acquisitions every year. Sorting through them, or even knowing where to begin, is a full-time job.
At IT-Harvest, we’ve tracked this market for two decades. The IT-Harvest Dashboard has become the go-to tool for analysts, CISOs, and investment firms. Now, we’re making that data available to everyone through the Marketplace.
It’s research-grade data — distilled, structured, and ready to use.
You can sign up to be the first to be notified when the Market place goes live and get benefits only available to the pre-launch subscribers.
When we launch in July the price will be just $20/month — cancel anytime. (Existing subscribers to HarvestIQ.ai will be transitioned to this new price.)
No sales pitch. No demo requests. Just answers.
What’s Next?
We’re already planning new features:
Side-by-side product comparisons
Filters by MITRE/NIST coverage
Vendor-submitted white papers and video demos for greater accuracy.
If you have suggestions, we want to hear them. This is just the beginning.
A Final Word
When we launched the IT-Harvest Dashboard, our mission was to bring clarity to the cybersecurity vendor landscape. With the Marketplace, we’re taking that a step further — putting that clarity in the hands of everyone.
Thanks for joining us on this next chapter. We hope it saves you time, informs your decisions, and brings transparency to an industry that desperately needs it.

Founder, IT-Harvest
The chicken or egg dilemma for marketplaces is a very real barrier to new entrants. In order to bootstrap it, the marketplace or platform needs to act on both sides to create a favorable situation for adoption and growth.
Congratulations in making it happen, Richard and IT Harvest team.
