If there is a 2 X 2 grid that is even more famous than the Gartner Magic Quadrant it is the SWOT analysis, or Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats. The methodology for evaluating a business started to gain traction in the mid 1960s. Although they did not use the acronym, the authors of Formal Planning: The Staff Planner's Role at Start-Up at the Stanford Research Institute mentioned the four components. Today a SWOT analysis is standard fair for consultants and strategists.
I have been using our new AI Assistants at HarvestIQ.ai for a few weeks, but only yesterday did it occur to me ask it to create a SWOT analysis of a vendor. If you are tasked with doing this for your company you may want to try this out while we are running a free trial. If you are thinking of hiring a consultant to create a SWOT of your organization you may reconsider!
I asked the Analyst Assistant to create a SWOT of Wiz.

You have to admit there is very little to fault in this analysis. But is the Analyst Assistant better than just going to one of LLMs? If you task ChatGPT 4o with the same request you get a pretty good response. It even mentions Orca in the Threats section.
Because the IT-Harvest data is better organized it may be the real strength is coverage of up-and-coming vendors?
I asked ChatGPT 4o to create a SWOT analysis of Savvy Security and it hallucinated that Savvy has a user-friendly and affordable SSL/TLS certificate management platform, which is not the case. Here is a full SWOT on Savvy Security from the Analyst Assistant.

I think I will rely on HarvestIQ for now. What are some other well know analysis techniques we could test on our Assistants?
